I know Tolkein and his writings are christian. The point is about proof not about who wrote it or what they wrote about. I read the Bible like a fiction book. There can be meanings behind the words but without proof Jesus, like Gandalf, is only a character.
To me anyways, luckily everyone is free to believe what they want.
